General Electric on Instagram

General Electric are publishing a cool series of pictures that are guaranteed to appeal to the geek crowd on Instagram. I love them anyway!

The Complete List of Top Instagram Apps

The Next Web has posted a definitive round-up of the current crop of online apps taking advantage of Instagram’s API. They list way too many websites and apps for me to discuss here, so click through and enjoy.

Justin Bieber on Instagram

When someone like Justin Bieber joins Instagram, you just know that this is a platform ready to explode. He’s posting intimate photos and comments from his everyday life, perfectly in keeping with his history of building his brand online. Check out Selena Gomez on Instagram too.

British Airways on Instagram

It would be good to know who’s in control of the British Airways Instagram account. The informal, but informed, posts are intriguing, but it feels like an individual acting alone. This is fine if they can keep it up but like many brands dipping their toes into the plethora of new digital channels, it feels disconnected from the core British Airways marketing strategy.

Starbucks on Instagram

Starbucks enjoy themselves on Instagram. They’re relaxed, confident and clearly understand the channel. It’s rightly not their priority but they demonstrate their marketing genius by building relationships with consumers everywhere they can.

Red Bull on Instagram

Red Bull are everywhere first, and it’s no surprise that they’re experimenting with new channels like Instagram. They’re not going crazy with it but they’re consistent, interesting and engaging.

Playboy on Instagram

Playboy is a strong global brand that is making an effort to re-invigorate itself in the changing media landscape. They’re using Instagram in a nostalgic way, focusing on models and covers from their past, but they’d do much better by focusing on the present and showing us what the Playboy brand means now.

Burberry on Instagram

Burberry post an eclectic range of photos, ranging from model shots to images of London. I get the feeling that this is one person at Burberry acting alone. I’d like to see more photos, more integrated into their marketing strategy. Continue reading ‘Burberry on Instagram’

Jamie Oliver on Instagram

Jamie Oliver is building on his ‘your mate’ image and posting everyday images onto his Instagram profile. It makes him seem very accessible and down to earth. As a social media tactic it’s spot on. I very much doubt he’s got anyone advising him; he’s doing what comes naturally and he should keep doing it.
