Sony 3D TV Competition Debacle
My friend Andrew Murchie got in touch with me today to tell me about the problems he and other contestants have been having with a Sony “Win a 3D TV” competition. His 3D film, “FourPlay”, was a runner up in a competition run by 3D World Magazine and Sony but he and his fellow contestants have had a lot of difficulties getting their prize of a Sony BRAVIA LX900 3D HD TV. After 6 months, he received a lower quality 3D TV than was advertised in the competition. In May 2011, after several months of being ignored, he threatened to involve the UK Advertising Standards Authority and he finally got a response from Sony promising to look into it. He’s still to hear anything back from them. I really don’t understand why any brand would act like this, and I hope there’s a resolution soon. Read Andrew’s full story at Enhanced Dimensions.
