Weetabix – Win a Toy Story Adventure

Aug 22 2010

Toy Story 3 is a great family film, so a brand affiliation with Weetabix, the most popular family breakfast cereal, makes a lot of sense. Dialogue141 created a microsite to hold the promotional content, which includes a draw to win a holiday in Florida, a coin-collecting Flash game and the TV ad by WCRS. The whole promotion is slick though formulaic, with no serious attempt at engagement in any other Digital channels outside of the microsite.

The site hasn’t been coded to work with the iPhone, but it functions tolerably well on this platform. It fails completely on the Blackberry. You could argue that this isn’t the sort of site that mobile users are likely to access, but at the very least every website should be usable for its core task on every web browser.

So how does the draw work? Firstly, you’re asked to confirm which pack you bought, as this promo runs on Weetos, Weetabix Minis and Oaty Bars too. Also, you have to choose your country at this point. The only options are UK and ROI.

The next page shows the impressive prize, consisting of a family trip to Florida, taking in Walt Disney World, Kennedy Space Center and a VIP dinner at Planet Hollywood. There are 2000 runner-up prizes consisting of a range of Toy Story promotional goods.

After the prize section comes the entry mechanic. Weetabix are collecting mandatory fields of First name, Surname, Email and Phone number. I entered my code, and eagerly await the next draw on 31 August.
