Win £10 every day it rains with Walkers Crisps
Walkers have a promotion on all their crisp packets to win £10 if you can guess where and when it will rain. This sounds easy, especially at this time of year. I was going to buy 4 packets of crisps in our local Spar for 50p each, but I noticed that they had a promotion where you could buy 2 x 6-packs for £2. I didn’t really want 12 packets of crisps but the maths forced me into it.
Code entry can be done by SMS or online. For my first pack, I chose to use SMS. I texted my code to 51199 and received the following message back: “You’ve just banked your code. Register at walkers.co.uk and enter PIN #### to redeem them. Texts are courtesy of O2 reply RAIN to get 2 free SIMS to share”. Texting is so immediate and simple that I couldn’t resist the offer of 2 free SIMs. I actually did need one for my old iPhone anyway. O2 then texted me asking for my address.
I then went to walkers.co.uk to enter the code from the second pack. This directed me on to walkers.co.uk/RainyDay/home/. I had to register first, with my email, name and password. Then I had to register my mobile number with the pin. After entering my code I was told that I had 2 ‘predictor plays’ and 12 ‘savings points’. I earned one more predictor play and 2 more points by giving them my date of birth and post code.
I couldn’t actually predict the weather because all spots on the map had been taken. I’d have to come back tomorrow to predict Wednesday’s weather. The savings points could be redeemed for various half price attractions and meals.
This promotion doesn’t work on an iPhone, but at least they explain at kilrush.mobi/mcs/publish/1513/9354.
