Win 50,000 Prizes With Shloer On Sunday
Extra effort needed from a brand that promises prizes to relax with at the weekend
I was up early for the 8am coach this morning to watch my wife’s brother and his partner run the London Marathon.
We started off at the huge Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford, admired the Olympic Stadium, and then hopped around the Marathon route on the DLR, ending up with the tired runners at Horseguards Parade.
It was an exhausting day for us too but really inspiring to see so many people focusing on their goals and pushing past their pain.
We arrived home at 6pm so not enough time to cook anything. Instead I filled the kitchen table with picnic food and we settled down to relax and watch ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ on the Apple TV. I opened a bottle of Shloer to go with the food.
Shloer is a brand that is very interested in how you relax on a Sunday and they’re running a promotion to ‘win 50,000 prizes’ which is about as vague a promise as you can make.
Tearing back the neck label I was instructed to go to Facebook.com/Shloer and use the ‘Love Your Shloer Sunday’ app to enter my unique code. I had to ‘Like’ the app first, even though I still had no idea what the prizes were.
I was then asked what sort of Sunday I loved, with four possible choices: Sparkling Sunday (which was meaningless), Scrumptious Sunday (which I guessed was probably to do with food), Sunny Sunday (which I thought might have something to do with outside activities) and Sofa Sunday (which I presumed was TV-focused?).
Once I selected an option I saw that there was a description underneath each one and I could finally discover the prizes: a Swarovski crystal vase, deluxe cookware bundle, a BBQ and a Kindle. I went for the cookware bundle as it’s the thing I do most at the weekend and I was asked again what Sunday I loved most. I selected ‘Scrumptious Sunday’ once more. I clicked ‘next’ again and this time I was asked for some personal details: my name, address and email. Only then was I asked for my code, to be told immediately that I hadn’t won.
I don’t think Shloer will be winning any brand marathons in the near future but with a bit of extra effort in the park on a Sunday they could build on a product that has a lot of potential.
