Win Cash for Christmas from Crisp ‘n Dry

Dec 06 2011

Surprisingly, there aren’t many Christmas promotions around at the moment but one that’s been around for a while is this one from Crisp ‘n Dry. Like their previous promotion to win a kitchen, they use a clever tear-off to hold the unique entry ID.

Very few brands go for an on-pack money giveaway but if you’re going to do it then Christmas is the time that it will have the most impact.

To enter the promotion, the pack instructions say to go to www.wincashforchristmas.co.uk. The first thing I notice is that it’s a Flash site. I reach for my iPhone to see what the site looks like on there and I’m pleased to see that it works perfectly. Personally, I prefer the non-animated version – I really don’t see Flash adding any value to the promotion – but kudos to Propagate Promotions for covering all the bases.

Crisp ‘n Dry are collecting your email, full name, year of birth, post code, gender and purchasing information. This is a step up from their last promotion where they only collected names and email addresses. When I entered my code I was asked to ‘unlock’ a security panel by sliding it. I’ve never seen anything like this before: most brands use a ‘captcha’ device. Non-javascript browsers show a ‘please tick here to proceed’ checkbox, which is equally unusual. Clearly someone doesn’t like captchas! Bearing in mind that there are quite a few clicks and form entries before the consumer even gets to this point, I expect the spam levels would be very low anyway.
