Win Nearly £50 with Skittles
For campaigns that have an on-pack element, always consider consumers that buy the product after the promotion closing date.
To encourage my 10 year-old son to study for his up-comimg Non Verbal Reasoning exam I asked him for his favourite sweets. He said Smarties and Skittles. So I told him that every question he gets right in the next week would gain him one sweet.
Skittles has a promotion to win ‘nearly’ £50. The instructions said to go to www.facebook.com/skittles. I tried this on my iPhone but got nowhere. We’re well past the time where brands need to consider mobile, especially confectionery brands that tend to be consumed out of home. For the sake of research I fired up my netbook. Nothing there either so I re-read the instructions and I realised the end-date was 30 August 2012. One day too late. This is a simplistic mistake that can be rectified by a mop-up draw for late entrants.
